About this product

This Wifi b/g wireless IP camera has its own built in web server. You can view the video from your own home network or you can configure your router to view and control the camera from computers or cellphones on the internet, without dependence on any third party web sites or subscriptions. With the built-in microphone you can listen in. Excellent MPEG4 or MJPEG video quality at a full 640 x 480 resolution with up to 30 frames per second for fluid, natural motion color. For viewing or recording a single camera no software is required besides just your browser. For viewing or recording multiple Sharx IP cameras the included MultiView software for PCs supports up to 4 Sharx IP cameras simultaneously. Truly amazing to see the streaming video on your web enabled cell phone. For frequent use we recommend to upgrade your cellphone service to unlimited data, which costs just $15/mo extra on the ATT network. You can see motion even on non-3G phones like SonyEricsson w580i. If your phone does not support video you can see automatically refreshing JPEG images. At home, you can use this camera with your laptop or iPhone as a baby or pet monitor, and the very high light sensitivity in "moonlight mode" allows you to view out from a window to see what's happening in the street as long as there is some background light available. I have never been one to review products in the past but this product is so outstanding that I felt I must.

The competition:
Before I purchased the Sharx camera I tried 2 other cameras from Cisco and TrendNet but could not get either of them to work properly. Setting up a network camera for remote viewing requires considerable technical understanding. Both of these cameras came with worthless manuals and even worse tech support. (I would consider myself rather competent with computers)

I had this camera up and running within about an hour. The instructions are excellent and they cover everything in great detail.

Customer service -((AMAZING)) -The day after I set up my camera it stopped working due to an issue with my router. Did Sharx tell me to call dlink like the other useless companies - NO. I sent them an email Friday afternoon asking for help. We carried on a conversation via email and the problem was fixed in no time. The longest I waited for a reply was maybe 30 mins at the most.

Excellent product, even better service. Don't waste your time with other brands - they are cheaper but by the time you get them to actually work (if at all) you will wish you bought this camera that works perfect right out of the box.

I have 4 of these at one of my customer. They have one checking pool area, one checking the property and 2 in their shop. They are clear as a bell. They have the software setup so they can see all 4 at one time on a separate monitor. The latest firmware make them easy to setup. All 4 are wireless going to a netgear router. They have 2 computers with extra monitors and they both can see all. Early on with the old software they were a little confusing to setup but with the latest firmware they are a snap. They stay connected 98% of time. Once in awhile they stop and usually a reset of software cures it.
The customer support is probably one of the best I have seen, I deal with support in my job and I wish other companies were as go as they are. I had a slight problem with one camera and I sent it back and they fix it and returned it with latest updates both hardware and software. I can't say enough about their support.
The cameras are clear and the sound on them are also good. You could use them at your house for door security. I am going to install one so I can see and talk to anyone at the door.
The price of the cameras are a little on the expensive side but you get what you pay for. If you want quality and clearity this is a good choice.
I setup up the cameras for viewing on the net. I use NO-IP which I use for my personal projects as well. You can get a free account or a pay one depending on what you want.
