I bought this flat iron several months ago. I was trying to decide on which flat iron to buy and spent hours reading reviews. Decided to go with this one because I thought the others were too expensive and also did not last for long (like CHI). Here's what I think about this flat iron after using it for a while. Firstly, the nano-diamond ceramic plates are not as smooth on my hair as normal ceramic plates. I don't have any trouble with straightening my hair, but when I curl it, sometimes it gets hard because it's just not as smooth as normal ceramic plates. Secondly, some of my hair gets caught where the plates sink, so it's not that cool. Thirdly, I felt like my hair got drier. I don't know though if it's because I started using heat protector (tresamme) which, as it turns out, has alcohol in it that dries your hair. So, I can't really tell if it's the flat iron's fault or the protector I used.
In general, I think it's a good hair straightener. Philips is reliable, so I hope it lasts me a couple of years. Still, I think I'm gonna buy another hair straightener and keep this one in case the other one breaks.
