The central stem nozzle is easy to use. A lever on the top of the machine allows you to bring the steam nozzle down and back up allowing you to adjust the height of the coffee dispenser. The high pressure pump leads cold water into the Thermoblock System where it is instantaneously warmed to the optimal temperature of 198 degrees Fahrenheit. Easy to clean and maintain a drip tray is integrated in the front door. It has an automatic sensor to indicate when the water tray is full and is removable for easy dumping and cleaning. As per title, spent 3 1/2 years with my 9000, used daily, sometimes more. Has been great until now, it's developed a problem with one of the connectors near the boiler, essentially the plastic has become brittle and cracked.

I'm not going to gripe over the breakage. Considering the amount of use it's had im more than happy - I just wish Krups had some decent service capability in Aus.

For those contemplating buying one there's a few known faults with these units:

1. My dreaded pipe problem. Needs replacement and should be good for another 3-4 years.
2. The seal at the top of the steamer can cause problems. Apparently there was a recall for the early ones where the assembly was replaced.
3. Nozel at the bottom of the steamer can be a problem if not cleaned very frequently... the innards can block and reduce the foaming amount.

We've had the unit about 2 months now. Everyone RAVES about the quality of the coffee it makes. We seem to be mostly making coffee in it. But the machine makes an excellent cappuccino. Milk froths up nicely. Easy to clean the froth stem. Easy to fill water tank. Semi easy to fill bean area. Grinds beans nicely with internal burr grinder. Puts out small hockey puck discs into internal holding container. Water tank holds about eight 8oz coffees before you have to refill. Same for the used grounds holder inside. Easy to empty. Front door just swings open. Self cleaning. Everytime you turn it on or off it will go through a cleaning cycle to make sure you have the best tasting coffee.

We are REALLY happy with this unit. I hope we get lots of coffees and many years of service out of it without any issues !

Machine still going strong with daily use. No issues or cons experienced with this unit noted in other reviews.

The design found in this unit would be pretty appalling in a unit half this price, but for such an expensive unit it's unforgivable.

It has an unmistakable flimsiness, minimal reliability and you'll be lucky to get much more than the warranty period of two years out of it. After ingredients, cleaning supplies, etc., many would be better off just buying their coffee from a coffee shop, or better yet, buying a brand that is less rubbish.

When (not if) it breaks, you're pretty much on your own. Servicing is just as expensive as the unit and unavailable to many, and customer service is nonexistent.

DO NOT BUY.
